FAQ’S

How do I book my holiday after activating my voucher?

After you activate your voucher by paying the booking and service fees, you’ll receive an email with access to the hotel booking portal.

From there, you can:

  • Search for your preferred travel dates

  • View available resorts and hotels

  • Make your booking directly online

Important details:

  • Once a destination (e.g. Gold Coast) is selected, the customer has 18 months to travel.

  • Travel to and from the resort is not included.

Most peak periods (e.g. school holidays) may require a modest surcharge or have limited availability. Subject to each individual hotel or resort.

What are the taxes and fees I need to pay?

You’ll need to pay standard booking and service fees, which start from around AU$35 per room per night, depending on the destination and resort.

These fees cover:

  • Local tourism and bed taxes

  • Booking platform/reservation fees (similar to what you’d pay on sites like Expedia or Booking.com)

  • Travel agency and housekeeping fees

Even though the room is complementary, these small fees are standard in the travel industry.

Are there any other costs I should be aware of?

Yes, while your accommodation is free (valued between AU$100–AU$300 per night), you are responsible for:

  • Flights and airport transfers

  • Meals, drinks, and snacks

  • Resort fees (if applicable)

  • Tips/gratuities

  • Any room upgrades or additional nights

Resort fees often include things like:

  • Wi-Fi

  • Gym or pool access

  • Towels, beach chairs, or umbrellas

  • In-room safes

  • Parking (if applicable)
What hotels and resorts can I choose from?

We work with 3–5 star resorts that are highly rated on TripAdvisor (4+ bubbles).
While we provide examples on our website, actual availability varies depending on dates and demand.

You’ll see the current list of available hotels after you activate your voucher and enter your desired travel dates.

Are there any travel or location restrictions?

Yes. To use a holiday voucher, you must live at least 100 miles (160 kilometers) away from the resort you want to book.

These holiday accommodation vouchers are for holidaymakers—not local residents—and helps hotels fill otherwise vacant rooms with genuine travelers.

Can I use my holiday voucher during peak holiday periods?

You can travel during peak times, but:

  • Availability may be limited

  • Some resorts may charge a small surcharge

This varies by resort and is shown during the booking process.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. All bookings must be made at least 30 days in advance of your preferred check-in date.

This allows resorts to plan inventory and ensures you have access to the best possible availability.

Is there a timeshare or sales presentation involved?

No. You are not required to attend any sales or timeshare presentations when using your voucher.

Can I bring my kids?

Most resorts accommodate 2 to 4 guests per room, depending on availability.
However, not all properties are child-friendly, so check room details during booking to ensure it suits your family’s needs.

Are flights included with the voucher?

No, flights and airport transfers are not included.
Your voucher covers accommodation only.

Can I use more than one voucher to book multiple rooms or travel in a group?

No. Each voucher is valid for one room only, and cannot be used for group bookings, multiple rooms, or bookings for friends/family traveling on the same dates.

Why must one person be over 21 and have a credit or debit card?

All resorts require that at least one guest:

  • Is 21 years or older

  • Has a valid credit or debit card for check-in

This is standard hotel policy and helps ensure guests can cover any incidental or on-site expenses.

Can I sell, gift, or trade my voucher?

No. Holiday vouchers cannot be sold, bartered, or transferred.
They are meant exclusively for use by the person or business that received them.

Can I cancel or change my destination after activation?

Once you activate your voucher and select a destination, you cannot change it.
Each resort operates independently, so changes are not possible after confirmation.

Also, activation fees are non-refundable, and cancellations or no-shows will result in loss of those fees.

What does it mean that my voucher expires in 7 days?

Once you receive your voucher, you have 7 days to activate it by paying the booking and service fees.

After activation, you’ll have 18 months to complete your holiday.

This 7-day window helps hotels plan effectively and increases the chance you’ll follow through and enjoy your trip.

What if I forget to activate my voucher within 7 days?

No worries! Just email us at [email protected] with your original voucher code, and we’ll send you a new activation link.

I have activated my booking and I have questions, who do I contact?

Once your booking is activated, you can communicate directly with Redeem Vacations (booking station) or the Hotel or Resort directly.
